Anuenue Fisheries Research Center (AFRC)
The Anuenue Fisheries Research Center does not currently have its own website but the following information is provided by other Hawaii State agencies:
Aquaculture Development Program (ADP)
AFRC pioneered freshwater prawn culture in Hawaii during the mid-1960's and has supported the aquaculture industry periodically by providing prawn post-larvae for farm stockings, management training, and species research.
The Aquaculture Disease Specialist, the State's Fish Doctor and a member of the Aquaculture Development staff, is housed here at AFRC. Dr. James Brock provides much needed veterinarian services and advice to farmers. Staff technicians help with various tissue preparations, viral detection tests, field visits, and sample collections at two other locations on Oahu. Limited diagnostic assistance occurs at an international level by prior arrangement.
