International Collective in Support of Fishworkers (ICSF)
The ICEF hosts a website on legal instruments of relevance to fisheries and fishing communities including 124 legal instruments in seven categories: Human Rights, Food Security, Women and Development; Environment and Sustainable Development; Oceans and Fisheries Management; Environmental Pollution; Fishing Vessels and Safety at Sea; Labour; and Trade. One can also find details of the workings of the instruments (decision-making bodies, monitoring and implementation agencies, periodicity of meetings, rules for participation in meetings of the decision-making bodies and implementation agencies for States and non-governmental organizations), regional instruments/agencies and follow-up actions taken. Also provided are details of the workings of the instruments as well as full texts of the instruments in a searchable database.
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
Established in 1989 to further enhance economic growth and prosperity for the region and strengthen the Asia-Pacific community, APEC is the only inter-governmental grouping in the world operating on the basis of non-binding commitments, open dialogue and equal respect for the views of all participants. Experts from member economies participate in working groups including the Fisheries Working Group.
